The BaoBaB Project exists since July 2007, but the adventure started much earlier ... The musical root of the BaoBaB Project is indeed born in 1998 when Christophe, the guitarist and singer of the band, discovers the DAGDAD open tuning which he slightly modifies in order to obtain a unique tone opening up a new musical universe. With this new guitar tuning, he must re-learns everything from scratch and after a few years of experimentation the first songs appear. The story will come later, starting in Fall 2005 with lyrics being written until 2008.

Everything gets into shape in 2007 when Christophe bumps into old friends Mathieu and Christian, two musicians having played in the past in various bands (the three of them have played a total of 300 concerts!). The magic immediately happens: like good old wine, the three friends have reached maturity at the same time, each one bringing a distinct musical flavor mixing perfectly with the other two. Their influences like Muse, dEUS, Godspeed You Black Emperor!, Pink Floyd, Mogwai, Joseph Arthur, Radiohead, (and many others!) collide and mingle to constitute a unique musical signature and a hypnotic sonic leitmotiv. The BaoBaB Project is born.

The music of the BaoBaB Project combines powerful electric guitars, vintage tube amplifiers and brightning accoustic guitars with a ground-shaking bass and drums rhythm section and a melodic lead voice.
